The Holliston Public Library recently brought the Museum of Science’s “Star lab” planetarium to the Town Hall. The Star lab is a giant inflatable dome which acts as a portable planetarium once inside.
Long exposure was the key in this scenario as flash was not allowed and their was virtually no light. In this photo the shutter was open for 30 seconds which is why the moving people are blurry but the stationary stars are sharp. The “drawing” of the Big Dipper, at right, was a result of the instructor’s use of a laser pointer and the long exposure.
